It’s good to have a mentor and so rewarding to be one

I owe a lot to the business mentors I have had over the years (you know who you are!) – now I am a “seasoned” professional (read…old) and the boot is on the other foot.

When I was young and naiive (for example when I believed that everyone would pay their bills on time…) it was excellent to receive great advice and cautionary tales from those who had learned the hard way about how to do business.

That’s general business advice and very very necessary – however the really special stuff comes from some very high quality communications professionals I have had the pleasure of working with over the years.

As I said, it’s my turn now to be the “old hand” and I have just signed a contract to provide mentoring and performance coaching to one of ING’s Communications Managers.
